If your goal is to be fit for life, you need to make time for fitness. It has to be a part of your everyday schedule, just like brushing your teeth, going to work or taking your kids to school. Set aside a specific time to exercise, this way you have no excuse not to do it. If you don’t make it a priority and set aside time for it, you most likely will not be successful in your fitness goals.
The absolute best time to exercise for many reasons is early in the morning. If you can do this, you can get it done and out of the way so you have no excuse for not having time for it later in the day. When you are trying to keep a workout regimen, it is very easy to have so many things going throughout the day in your busy life, that you end up skipping exercise here and there, and eventually just not going at all. I have seen so many people throughout the years start to work out, go balls to the wall for a couple weeks, then skip a day or two, skip a whole week and then quit. Work it into your everyday schedule, take certain days off and don’t make it too tough on yourself if you hate working out.
I have not skipped a day at the gym besides vacations and my planned days off for many years. I get up at about 4:30am and get to the gym around 5:30. This gives me time to start digesting my pre workout meal, as well as wake up and stretch out to get all ready to hit it hard at the gym. The only negative to working out early is for injuries, since generally your muscles are more tight in the mornings. Just be sure to stretch and warm up good, so you can help prevent injuries.
You don’t need to do some three hour marathon workout. If you are not one of those people that love to workout like me, just find 30 minutes or more a day in your schedule and make time for fitness. Don’t just say you are going to do it, DO IT! Revolve your day around your fitness schedule. The added benefits of improved health, a better body, more attention from the opposite sex and a longer lifespan or just a few of the many benefits that make it a no brainer to exercise.
